About Me

I have nearly 10 years of experience as a professional photographer with expertise in event, portrait, and fine art photography.  On the commercial side, I am a veteran photographer for the Port of Long Beach and the Los Angeles-based shipping industry.  My assignments have included high-level international conferences, elegant and formal special events, aerial photography, and action shots of the fast-paced and often dangerous cargo terminals.  I’ve worked alongside the United States Coast Guard, the Navy, and Port Harbor Patrol to capture candid moments at one of the world’s largest seaports.  These photographs have appeared in industry publications, annual reports, and advertising campaigns, reaching tens of thousands of people all over the world.  Recently, my photos appeared in the book Port of Long Beach: “Celebrating a Centennial.”  Beyond my corporate experience, I enjoy photographing families, children, and life experiences.  I also have a passion for outdoor adventure shooting!  Whether it be car camping somewhere in my ’81 Vanagon “Sammy”, trial running, bike camping along the northern coast, or pedaling in the mountains, my camera is almost always in tow.

Although I prefer a natural, relaxed setting for my subjects, I have expertise in lighting both in-studio and on-location. I’m fully adept at digital capture and color management, including advanced retouching.  In addition to being behind the camera, I have 7 years experience as a photographer’s assistant.
